Dr. Mark Vossler was born in 1963 and grew up in Buffalo, New York. He received both his undergraduate Bachelor of Science and his M.D. from University of Rochester. He did his internship and residency in internal medicine at University of Vermont and his cardiology fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University. He also spent an additional year there for advanced training in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. While at OHSU, he received a prestigious clinical investigator award from the National Institutes of Health as well as a research grant from the America Heart Association. He served on the OHSU faculty in the cardiology division for three years prior to joining Eastside Cardiology in 2002. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases. His clinical interests include chronic heart failure, cardiomyopathy, heart disease in pregnancy, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He serves as the medical director of the heart failure program and cardiac enhancement center at Evergreen Hospital. In his free time, he enjoys getting outdoors with his wife and three girls, who wish to keep their favorite Nordic ski trails and fishing holes a secret.
"I firmly believe that cardiovascular disease must be treated proactively with a multi-pronged approach including diet, exercise, medications and procedural intervention at every stage of the disease from early risk factors to acute coronary syndromes to end stage heart failure. It is my goal for my patients to live full and productive lives despite the presence of heart disease."
